БиографияBeing the son of a leadsinger in a soulband, and a gospelchoirsinger, Stanford (Stanley Foort) was destined to become a musician at a young age…
At the age of 13 Stanford started taking organ lessons. In between studying hours he started making his first moves as a DJ.
While gaining local name and his dj- and live act-gigs were taking off nationwide, he started working at houserecordshop Midtown. He got signed to their label and in 1990 his first production was released: "Got me goin' crazy", a new jack swing track co-produced by René v.d. Weyde(Atlantic Ocean).
Later that year Techno house project LA Style, already buzzing underground with "James Brown is Dead", were in need of a new frontman... Stanford put his upcoming dj/producer-career on hold in order to do the "James Brown is Dead Worldtour". Of course rocking the decks as guest-dj @ the aftershows in countries such as Japan, Germany and Australia.
After a 2 year artist adventure in Germany, Stanford and Rene van der Weyde teamed up again and made "Keep your head up!", the first release under his “Stanford” monniker.
Other dancemusic-producers and dj’s started noticing his ability to write strong, catchy, lyrics. Since then Stanford has worked with acts like Underground Movement "Shake(what ya mama gave ya)", Mark van Dale, Mojado, Steven Quarre&Morris Mavado (Hed Kandi), Soul Cartel (Hardsoul pressings), Don Cartel, San Sebastian, Cor Fijneman, Mell Tierra&FireBeatz, Dave Lambert, Rene Amesz and lots more. Recent solo productions include “State of Love”, “Kisses”, and co-productions with Jonathan Pitch (“I need U” and “Don’t know Anything” ) His bootleg of Radiohead’s “Black hole Sun” (under his Fortizani-alias) was played all over Ibiza in 2010, and gained big support from jocks like Hardwell and Tiesto...
When attending a Stanford set, standing still is not an option. Expect a sexy banging blend of house, progressive, techhouse, tribal, latin, electro and a bite of techno. Anything goes... Not afraid to warm up for the next guy, he has done so for dj’s like Chuckie, Dj Jose, Secret Cinema, Erik van Kleef and many more.
STANFORD is, without a doubt, one of the most versatile MC's in the Dutch dancescene. Being a dj as well as MC, he’s respected for "knowing when 2 shut the f*ck up" in dance-scenes ranging from deephouse to hardtrance and evrything in between. Some he’s worked with on stage include Eddy Halliwell, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Lucien Foort, Don Diablo, Sidney Samson, Roog, Erick E, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Michel de Hey, Hardwell, Daniel Bovi&Roy Rox, Fedde Le Grand, Cor Fijneman, Funkerman, Yohi Biomehanika,Mojado, Randy Katana, Baggi Begovic, Born2Funk, Marco V., Benjamin Bates, Afrojack,Rene Amesz, Benny Rodrigues,Gregor Salto, Cosmic Gate, Marcel Woods, Johan Gielen, Judge Jules, Marcella, Chuckie, Steven Quarre to name just a few...
With his incredible timing, instant-recognizable voice and freestyle vocalizm, Stanford has hosted events such as Crazyland, Dancetour, Decibel Outdoor Festival, Little Sins, Rotterdam DanceParade, Armada Nights,DanceValley festival, Full Moon, Intenze Festival, Radio538 Queensday party, Blackhole Tour, LatinLovers on the Beach, Sneakerz on the Beach, Fabulous, Pleasure Island Festival, Summerbreeze Festival and Freshtival.
